Florida elementary schools must publish a searchable list of library materials. Start with a complete list of what is on the shelves.

Florida Statute 1006.28 requires each district to run a school library media programme, and each elementary school to publish, on its website and in a searchable format set by the Department of Education, a list of the materials in its library media centre and classroom libraries. A complete list is the starting point, and for many schools it does not exist yet. See also the US school library inventory guide.
Scan barcodes with a phone camera or USB scanner, or photograph shelves of books without barcodes and let the AI shelf scanner read the spines. Every book goes into one list, with the shelf or classroom it sits in.
Name each library media centre shelf and each classroom library as its own location before you scan it, so every book is recorded against where it sits. The statute covers classroom libraries and reading-list materials as well as the media centre.
Review each result against the cover on screen, correct anything wrong, and add by hand any book no source holds. Duplicate copies are detected when you save, so a classroom set of the same title is kept together with a quantity.
Export the list to Excel, then reshape it into whatever searchable format your district or the Department of Education prescribes. It opens in Excel or Google Sheets.

Each elementary school must publish on its website, in a searchable format prescribed by the Department of Education, a list of all materials in its school library media centre, classroom libraries and school or grade-level reading lists. On written request, a district must also give access to any specified material in a district school library for review.
TitleEntry builds the complete list of titles, authors, ISBNs, publishers and years, with each book’s shelf. It exports to Excel, which you can reshape into whatever format your district or the Department of Education prescribes. Publishing the list is a separate step that TitleEntry does not do.
TitleEntry is a cataloguing and export tool. It is not a library management system: no circulation, no student accounts, no overdue tracking and no public catalogue, and it does not publish anything to a school website. See our guide to book cataloguing software for how the options compare.
If your district already runs a library system, use the export to check it against the shelves. If it has none, TitleEntry builds the list from the books themselves. Check the current statute and your district’s guidance for exactly what must be published and how.
Florida Statute 1006.28 says each elementary school must publish on its website, in a searchable format prescribed by the Department of Education, a list of all materials maintained and accessible in the school library media centre or a classroom library, or required as part of a school or grade-level reading list. Check the current statute and your district for the exact requirement.
Scan every book with a phone camera or USB scanner, photograph shelves of books without barcodes so the AI shelf scanner reads the spines, and name each shelf or classroom first. Every book is saved to one catalogue that exports to Excel.
Yes. Name each classroom library as its own location and scan it like any other shelf. The catalogue keeps every location apart and exports them together.
No. It builds the catalogue and exports it to Excel. Publishing the list, and the format the Department of Education prescribes, is for your school or district.
No. It catalogues and exports, with no circulation, student accounts or overdue tracking. If your district already has a library system, use the export to check it against the shelves. If not, the catalogue can be your record.
